Courtesy of Formative Modern
A table mirror in two parts, comprising of a circular base and a metal half-sphere faced with glass mirror. This creative design has been attributed to French designer Djo Bourgeois (1898-1937), however it is uncertain who definitively designed this interesting take on a table mirror. This piece incorporates the modernist fascination with movement and adjustability in furniture, as well as the use of industrial materials like metal and glass. The circular base is marked “L Mathey Miroir” and stamped illegibly with two words, one of which reads, “deposé.”
